While opening the newest issue of Bicycle Times this morning, the first ad to catch my eye was from Swobo. The Mutineer is their first foray into the dirt world, and I must say it is a pretty sweet entry. Nothing flashy, just an aluminum frame with a nicely done segmented steel fork. Horizontal dropouts that are belt drive friendly. Oh, and did I mention that it is 650b?
While this bike definitely catches your eye, the price tag catches and holds onto your wallet. Not really sure how they pull off a cool grand for this one, but maybe there are some folks out there who like to buy the cool brand. This bike definitely seems cool, but not $1000 cool.
It’ll be interesting to see if this bike sticks around for a while, unless there is a price drop in the future, I would guess not.
