This summer, I made the trip to Columbus to visit the Ohio Historical Society. One of the exhibits that I really wanted to see was from the photographer Albert Ewing. Ewing traveled around West Virginia and the Ohio River valley in the late 1800s and early 1900s taking photographs of the good folks in Appalachia. Out of the 5000 or so glass plates, this one was obviously my favorite. I like to think that this chap is a relative of mine. We are both Appalachian, and both like bikes.
