Niner RLT 9…

Gravel bikes are the new hot ticket in the bicycle world, and quite a few companies are starting to toss out a gravel racer or two. One of the newest that I have seen comes from the folks at Niner with their all new RLT 9. This is a different direction for the company, as they have only made MTBs, but check out the new girl:

The RLT 9 features a hydroformed aluminum frame with a tapered head tube, paired with a Niner carbon fork. The geometry is more relaxed for a road bike, which Niner is calling it more of a “fire road” geometry. Disc brake ready, clearance for tires up to 1.75″ and internal cable routing to boot. I really like the looks of this bike.

So from the bicycle industry, it appears that the gravel bike is here to stay. I love the idea of a bicycle that is comfortable on the road, but also so when the pavement ends. This bike looks like a keeper to me, even with an aluminum frame. The frameset starts at $1049 and completes go for $1999 for Niner’s 2-star build, and $2999 for the 4-star.

Well done Niner!
